  • Pandora announced the launch of Pandora One, which is an ad-free, premium version of Pandora’s streaming music service (and for the first time, desktop application) available to listeners for a $36 per year subscription.
  • Transpera was named by Entrepreneur magazine as one of the nation’s 100 companies to watch.
  • Altierre was the subject of an article in Progressive Grocer which focused on a national retail chain with more than 1,000 stores and its plans to deploy Altierre’s digital signage and pricing technology solution to deliver real-time, dynamic pricing to electronic shelf labels (ESLs).
  • Pandora was featured in a Business Week article entitled “Pandora: Unleashing Mobile Phone Ads.”  Based on Pandora’s results for customers like Nike, Kraft, Target, and Best Buy, the article poses the question: “Is cell-phone marketing finally taking off?”
  • VERSUS announced a strategic partnership with Yardbarker whereby Yardbarker content will be distributed by VERSUS as part of their Fanarchy series debuting on June 7th.    VERSUS is a wholly owned company of Comcast and is distributed via cable systems and satellite operators to more than 75 million households throughout the United States .
  • Labrador V portfolio companies EoPlex and UstreamTV each won a 2009 Red Herring 100 North America Award being selected from a prestigious list of over 1,200 nominees representing the year's most promising private technology ventures in North America.  Past winners include Google, Yahoo!, Skype, Netscape, and YouTube.
  • Delve Networks reported record revenue growth and an impressive, diversified roster of more than 100 customers.
  • Eoplex won a 2009 Globe Innovators Award chosen by a panel of 5 independent judges on behalf of the Globe Forum Business Network based in Sweden . 2009 was the first year that nominees were considered from beyond the EU.

  • Solaicx was awarded the Progressive Manufacturing 100 Award (PM100) for the second year in a row. The award honors Solaicx for its “progressive core business, the management of its operations and the optimization of its advanced manufacturing technologies.”
  • George John, CEO of RocketFuel, in his ClickZ article entitled “Horses and Cars in Online Advertising” establishes the idea of combining contextual and behavioral advertising (as well as other factors) to achieve an “efficient frontier” in online advertising effectiveness.
  • Kickapps, a white label social networking startup, announced that it now supports Facebook Connect and OpenIDon KickApps-powered websites.
  • Pandora launched on BlackBerry for phones running BlackBerry OS 4.3 or better.
  • Pandora is now available on Vudu and represents its first music application.  Pandora joins YouTube, Flickr, Picasa, and 120 web-based video channels that are currently available for Vudu owners.
  • Labrador's Larry Kubal participated in Rutberg & Company’s quarterly forum entitled, “What Are Advertisers Spending Money on in 2009?" on March 4th.
